It's like cozying up with a warm hug from whiskey blended with smooth cold brew and a dash of vanilla sweetness. Spritzed with orange bitters and topped with an orange peel twist, it's a chill vibe in a glass that'll keep you coming back for more.
Ingredients:
- 2 oz Whiskey
- 1 oz Whiskey cold brew concentrate (see side note below)
- 1/2 oz vanilla syrup
- orange bitters
- orange peel for garnish
Directions:
- Add 2oz whiskey, 1oz cold brew concentrate, 1/2oz vanilla syrup, and a few dashes orange bitters to a cocktail shaker.
- Fill the shaker with ice.
- Shake well until chilled. You can also stir if that is your preference.
- Strain the cocktail into a chilled glass.
- Garnish with an orange peel.
Side note for the whiskey cold brew concentrate:
- We used a bag of the Whiskey barrel aged coffee to make cold brew concentrate. We used the Toddy system for this. We did the full bag ground coarse with 7 cups of cold water and let it brew for 8-12hours. There is a very cute video of my kid and I making cold brew concentrate that you can watch for reference :)
*For anyone interested in the vanilla syrup recipe!
Ingredients:
- 3 Vanilla beans
- 3 cups of Raw Sugar
- 2 cups of Water
Directions:
- Cut the beans open down the middle creating two halves of the long bean.
- Scrape the interior vanilla out with a knife and put into a pot on stove. Place the string beans in the pot as well.
- Add 3 cups of raw sugar and 2 cups of water into the pot and bring everything to a boil.
- Boil for about 5 minutes or until you see everything dissolve, stirring every minute to get the sugar and vanilla off the bottom
- Turn of the heat and let rest.
- Once cooled, pour contents into glass bottles (I use mason jars) and keep refrigerated!
